How to organise your home - six tips for easier tidying
We know life is hectic enough as it is, so why not make organising a little easier - and a little more fun? Here are six simple tips to declutter your home and keep your everyday clutter under control.
How to make organising a breeze
1. ‘One thing in, one thing out’
Don’t let your stuff take over your life. Take a round in each room, go through and see if you have anything dusty or taking up space in a drawer. Perhaps you also have things that can be sold on Finn.no or Tise?
Once you’ve got rid of the things you don't really need, try to follow the rule ‘One thing in, one thing out’. Every time you buy something new, see if you have anything you don’t need. And if you don’t have anything you want to let go of? Then maybe that new purchase isn’t really necessary after all.
2. Watch out - use the wall space
If your floor is starting to look like an obstacle course, it’s time to think vertically. Wall shelves and tall cabinets do wonders for the system (and the På(fyll) containers can be stacked quite high).
3. Divide your home into zones
Organise your home so that the things you use every day are most easily accessible. How annoying is it to look for soap in the kitchen when you have your hands full of bread dough? Place the soap dispensers near the sink, store your laundry near the washing machine and create separate zones in the house for your own activities.
4. Challenge yourself with a ‘one-minute clean-up’
Tidying doesn't have to be a marathon. Give yourself small, daily ‘one-minute tidying challenges’. Maybe it’s organising a drawer, clearing the kitchen counter, or refilling the På(fyll) dispenser. Small steps can lead to big changes, and before you know it, tidying has become a habit.
5. Choose flexible storage
Life changes and so should your storage solutions. Opt for systems that can be customised and changed according to your needs. På(fyll) containers are like the chameleons of the storage world - they blend in everywhere.
6. Make it a team effort
Get everyone involved in a clean-up! Organising can be a family activity that teaches everyone about responsibility and sustainability. Kids love competitions. Who can fill the soap dispensers the fastest?
